Waste and Recycling

What happens to your waste after collection, Litta's licensing and accreditations, and which items need to be flagged before we collect them.

What happens to my waste after collection?

It's transported to licensed waste transfer facilities and sorted for recycling or recovery wherever possible - currently around 97% of what we collect is diverted from landfill. You receive a digital Waste Transfer Note for your records, generated automatically for every job alongside before-and-after photos and verified tipping data.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?

Yes. Litta App Ltd is registered with the Environment Agency (registration CBDU375738) and operates in compliance with UK waste regulations, using licensed and vetted facilities and carriers throughout our network. We also hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, CHAS, SafeContractor accreditation, and are a certified B Corporation.

What items can Litta collect?

We can take all items - there are no blanket restrictions. Some items and materials need a bit of specification and clarification before we collect them, so we can plan the job properly.

Are there any restricted or prohibited items you can't collect without notice?

Yes - certain materials need to be flagged and agreed with us before we collect them: asbestos, clinical/medical waste, solvents, liquids, oil, batteries, other hazardous or toxic material, and gas cylinders.

If our team finds any of these materials on site without prior agreement, they're entitled to leave without completing the job, and this may be treated as a cancellation with the standard charges applying. Full detail is in our Terms and Conditions.
